Dean Russell MP and Gagan Mohindra MP recently hosted a Parliamentary Debating Competition. The event brought together schools from across Watford and South West Herts for a spirited exchange of ideas and perspectives.
It was a huge honour for Dean to attend the opening of the Forces United lounge at Watford FC today, and to take part in the moving Armistice Day Remembrance services both at Vicarage Road Cemetary and on-pitch at Watford FC.
Rail travel will be free for serving military personnel and veterans to and from Services of Remembrance across anywhere in Britain. Royal British Legion fundraising volunteers will also be given free travel to raise money for veterans.
Dean was really pleased to take part in an engagement session run by Herts School Outreach at Beechfield School which taught the pupils the importance of recognising emotions and how difficult situations may affect us.
As part of the Parliamentary Remembrance Garden, Dean dedicated #Watford’s stake to brave Captain Tom Sawyer, who tragically lost his life when serving in Afghanistan in 2009.
