Dean Russell was commissioned by the Conservative Women's Organisation to produce two unique original portraits of Prime Minister Theresa May and Emmeline Pankhurst to celebrate 100 years of the women's vote.
Dean Russell shared:
"I am incredibly excited to share that the Conservative Women’s Organisation recently commissioned me to paint original portraits of suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst and Prime Minister Theresa May to celebrate 100 years of the Women’s Vote. The paintings are in the same style as my portraits of Sir Winston Churchill and Baroness Thatcher which helped raise funds for local Conservative Party Associations a couple of years ago.
I am also delighted share that not only are the paintings complete but my portrait of the Prime Minister was also recently signed by the the Rt Hon Theresa May at Downing Street. In itself - especially as an artist - it is a huge personal honour.
Both original paintings, acrylic on canvas, will be available as a single framed piece for auction at a CWO Celebration Fundraiser event to raise funds to support more women to get involved in politics."
