The first ever World's Fashion Awards were hosted yesterday at The Savoy in London and Hertfordshire businessman, author and politician Dean Russell was invited as a VIP to attend the event.
The World Fashion Awards is a global prestigious awards ceremony aimed at celebrating established and emerging fashion brands, outlets, designers, models, manufacturers, buyers and media that form the international vibrant fashion scene.
Fashion is one of the world’s most creative industries which represents the global characteristics of modernity and culture itself. Everyone wears clothing. Hence, everyone participates in fashion to a certain degree. The World Fashion Awards unearths some of the world’s most innovative talent in fashion.Fashion is one of the past decade rare economic success stories. Over that period, the industry has grown at 5.5 percent annually, according to the McKinsey Global Fashion Index, to now be worth an estimated $3.0 trillion.
Dean Russell said of the event:
"It was an honour to help represent UK business and see the huge contribution the iconic British Fashion industry has on the world stage. I watched with pride as so many British talents won awards and especially delighted to see the family of the Welsh born fashion designer Dame Mary Quant pick up her award for Lifetime Achievement Award.
I also got to have some fun on the red carpet when I turned the cameras on the photographers during the photoshoot! I already can't wait for next year's event."
